United In Song - Diary of a Diva
Wednesday 21st September
Yahoo! What a FANTASTIC concert we had with our visiting American singers.
The Whitworth Centre was PACKED! The Red Rose City Chorus from America came to Derbyshire as part of a trip to our country. What an honour to have their company if just for one night. They headed to us from Liverpool and both choruses sang in both halves of the concert. Farenheit - our quartet of Ally, Leisha and Amie - sang too with a guest appearance by Julia Taylor, our stunning Tenor.
The concert finished with the Divas singing a song with our visitors that we had all learnt - With a little help from my friends' the iconic Beatle song. It felt fantastic to stand on the stage with those lovely ladies from 'across the pond'. Singing is a great way to unite people.
Our singing didn't stop there as we sang after the show - round the bar of course! - and then some of our visitors headed home with some of the Divas who had offered to host them for the night.
I think the Divas have had a great few days and we look forward to our upcoming other events - we just love singing together and our happiness is complete when we have an audience!
Til next time........and remember....keep singing!
